THE JOURNEY
August evenings have a particular weight. The air remains warm, color is saturated and yet the season already feels as though it is beginning to turn.
This painting grew from that balance between abundance and transition—the sense of a day and a season reaching their fullest point before fading.
IN THE STUDIO
The sky was developed through broad, layered color, then interrupted by smaller passages that suggest shifting cloud and atmosphere.
The lower landscape was simplified so the emotional weight remained in the changing light.
THE SURFACE
Paint seen at close range.
At distance, the marks resolve into landscape. Up close, the work returns to paint—edges, transparent passages, knife marks and areas where the surface remains deliberately active.
